Here Comes that Clear November Rain by Lauren Kinhan and Martin Bejerano
Music by Lauren Kinhan and Martin Bejerano Lyric by Lauren Kinhan Arrangement by Martin Bejerano Choreography by Sarah Slifer Swift Background Vocals by Ella Marcus and Lauren Kinhan Mixed by Martin Bejerano Video Edited by Lauren Kinhan I started writing this song at the height of the pandemic in response to friends describing the sounds and mood of the New York City streets. I wrote this lyric and melody over the simple opening notes leaning hard into the horrible response from the POTUS and the blaring truth that not only does he not care, but that he will take the most. The Chorus is meant to unify us in the effort to make the change....i.e. Voting in November! I asked Martin Bejerano if he felt like arranging a musical track and leading the charge on a bridge. When he sent me the sweeping overture, I found a way to meet him there with melody and hope. I asked my cousin Sarah Slifer Swift to set some movement to it and am thrilled with her absolutely gorgeous contributions. Thanks also to my daughter Ella Marcus for singing with her Mum...always the most happy times that I cherish. When we get through November, I hope this song will continue to be an anthem for the change we want to see and give us the courage to push through our shared struggles and despair and right the wrongs as a collective. Hope is the spark that can light even the darkest of pathways.
